Ragland Capital is a private investment firm headquartered in Austin, Texas, focused on direct investing across private credit, private equity, real estate, and venture capital. Founded and led by Chris Ragland with deep expertise across alternative assets and nearly three decades of principal and consulting experience, the firm operates as the family office of the Ragland-Story family, investing as a principal as well as on behalf of affiliated entities and select investors. Our mission is to grow and protect the family’s wealth to maximize the impact of its philanthropic efforts, with a primary focus on improving access to education and the arts. Today, Ragland Capital operates as a lean, focused team in Austin, but we’re at an inflection point. We’re building out a global footprint by recruiting seasoned investment professionals into eight strategic markets: New York, London, Cape Town, Dubai, Singapore, Los Angeles, and São Paulo alongside our Austin headquarters.

Our expansion strategy is disciplined and principal-focused. Rather than opening trophy offices, we’re placing experienced deal sourcing and underwriting professionals in each market who understand local capital structures, regulatory environments, and deal flow. These individuals are tasked with three things: identifying proprietary investment opportunities aligned with our four core verticals, building relationships with institutional LPs and family offices to raise capital locally, and executing transactions that leverage Ragland Capital’s underwriting discipline and principal capital. Each market leader operates with autonomy within our investment framework, creating genuine local expertise without sacrificing alignment.

What we’re building is a global alternative investment platform that co-invests principal capital alongside external partners while maintaining the operational efficiency and conviction-driven culture of a founder-led firm. As we expand from Austin to these eight cities over the next several years, we’re not hiring institutional salespeople. We’re recruiting investors, operators, and deal architects who see themselves as principals, not intermediaries. Ragland Capital represents a new model: global reach, local expertise, and founder alignment at every level, all in service of a family mission that has guided the firm since its founding.
